Mission/Purpose
Delaware State University’s Arts Center/Gallery (ACG) is an arts and culture educational resource that brings to the University community and the community at large a variety of events that promote excellence in the arts and humanities. Through exhibitions, performances and related program (Art Works for All, Scholastics Art and Writing Awards, National Arts Program and Congressional Art Awards) activities and accomplishments, the ACG promotes its role as a cultural resource for students and the DSU community. The ACG cultivates relationships with arts and education organizations throughout the state while prioritizing accessible programming to underserved populations.
The mission of the ACG is to schedule educational experiences that bring new ideas and art forms to various audiences; broaden the interpretation of our multicultural heritage; and promote access to the arts for all audiences.
ACG Staff: Jennifer Gunther, Director/Curator
Jennifer Gunther is an arts administrator, educator, and advocate. She is currently the Director of the Arts Center/Gallery at Delaware State University (DSU), a community-based cultural arts venue, and the Executive Director of Art Works for All, a non-profit arts education organization supporting artistic opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Jennifer is also an adjunct professor at DSU, providing instruction in arts administration and arts education. She has over twenty-seven years of experience in addressing the needs of diverse communities through the design and implementation of equitable and sustainable cultural programs. Jennifer is also a cultural access and creative placemaking consultant. She has an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Catholic University, a Master of Arts degree in Art Therapy from George Washington University, and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Delaware State University.
